What medical history details should I bring to my first appointment
What medical history details should I bring to my first appointment?
You should provide a comprehensive health history, including any chronic conditions, medications, allergies, and past medical procedures. This information is crucial for your dentist to provide you with safe and effective treatment. It can also help them identify potential oral health risks or connections between your overall health and oral health.
Additionally, it is important to inform your dentist of any dental procedures or treatments you have had in the past, such as fillings, crowns, extractions, or root canals. This will allow them to monitor the condition of these areas and ensure proper follow-up care.
If you have a history of gum disease, tooth decay, or other oral health issues, be sure to discuss this with your dentist. They may recommend specialized treatment plans or preventive measures to keep these conditions under control.
It’s also essential to mention any habits that may impact your oral health, including smoking or drinking as these are very important to mention to your dentist. No judgement necessary, we just want to know how to best help you!
